Morning all. I feel heeps better this morning, slept really well and my doggie didn't want to go out until 8.30am.

When my grandchildren are in the car I always put the rear door lock on so they can't fling the door open.

Going to the supermarket this morning, not much to get as we are in England next week but need dog food so housesitter can feed him. Making mince pies this afternoon or tomorrow for Sunday's Carol Service.

Clari, I was thinking "oh dear, the garage will eat up your garden", now it sounds like an exciting project, with more plans for the garden.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • When I was small my parents farmed in Bedfordshire - we had wallabies and muntjac deer visit the farm and eat the crops because they'd escaped from Whipsnade Zoo which wasn't far away - there was quite a colony of wallabies in the area for a while - just checked and they're still around http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-28658308

Thanks Dove.  They look the same as the ones we've got here .  We do occasionally see swamp wallabies as well.

Snow gum at Kew. I cant look at a eucalyptus with a blue sky behind without thinking of Australia.

The smell of shredded eucalyptus reminds me of the big pile of shredding in Kings Park in Perth. They planted an avenue of different eucalypts, one for each Western Australian soldier who died in the Great War (WW1) Now nearing 100 years old, they are huge.

If I have to use a car park , I park next to the most expensive car I can find. Those who drive Aston Martins are less likely to " fling the doors open" My old S reg van is beyond such worries though.

Chucking it down here Pat, You wanna swap? image

We've had confirmation that our flight to Sharm has been confirmed for Jan 7th. I've still not received the promised phone call from a " supervisor" , surprise, surprise.

No thanks Hosta, I'd prefer moderate rainfall, thank you,  remember Camelot? I remember the song, anyway, if not the movie.

looking forward to hearing about your next holiday, though.image

Right - cards and presents falling into my sphere of responsibility have been taken to the PO and posted.  OH has a present to wrap for his sister ... he was going to do it last night. That means another journey to the PO  image
