Dreadful night of wind and rain here too. It's a bit better just now but apparently to get worse again later. Slightly different from what you have Pat! Had to bring the bin in from it's usual place near the car, to stop it blowing around any more. Doesn't seem to be any other problems outside though. Hope you don't have too much damage Lesley.
I expect some nutter will still be up on Nevis though....
Thankfully, my girls don't bother much about C'mas. I get a few little things for a stocking and they they get cash. The shops here are vile in the weeks leading up to it. I always wonder how much of their trolley loads of food gets thrown out. They can't all be feeding the five thousand...
The supermarket's only shut for one day too!
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Morning all, beautiful pic Dove! Very mild but very windy here. Although we have alot of surrounding woodland we are also in a bit of a 'dip' ( valley is maybe a better word for it!) and any wind/ breeze seems to blow our way with extra gusto!!
Off to Dads in a mo to do abit of rubbish removal, thankfully the local recycling centre is a bit quiet now that everyone is busy xmas shopping, so its not such a chore.
No way will I even think about going into town at wk ends at this time of year.....I detest all types of shopping at the best of times anyway.
Tether yourselves down, don't want anyone to get blown off their feet!!, keep safe and have a good wk end x
Quiet weekend planned here. Mr C seems fine after his latest procedure, but we have learned our lesson and will be taking it slowly this time. Some Christmas card writing planned here too.
Just booked my 2016 tickets for the Garden festival I went to in the Cotswolds last year ....Carol K, Mr B (assume Beechgrove have given him some time off ) and Matthew Wilson, plus a tour round Rodmarton Gardens ....v exciting
Yep......thats my line of thought too Fairy, glad its not just me. I have friends who also love to while away the day .....wait for it............WINDOW SHOPPING!!!!!!.........please can someone explain to me the joys of that, I fail to get my head around what that is all about
I had a bit of a laugh at the discussion about shopping on the weekend. In our local town, the only places open after lunch on Saturdays are the supermarkets. You're even lucky to find a coffee shop open. I'm rather glad that my lot prefer to have money to select their own presents. We do slip a few little bits and pieces in, but our shops are also rubbish.
We've been watching the annual school spectacular for the last couple of hours. Gosh those kids are talented!
Just had to get up and close the door because the flying ants season has apparently begun, once again, so no night open windows while the lights are on. How soon we forget the joys of summer. Grrr.
Sat at the kitchen table in purple dressing gown with coffee watching robin and blue tits on the feeders with the wind blowing a gale down the path!
Have a sleeping nearly twenty one year old step daughter back from uni in the house and am wracking brains thinking of final present to get her so I doing have to browse!
I've got a whining cat winding round my legs telling me its lovely weather for a play in the garden, she's wrong!
So pleased with Mr chickys progress Chicky! Great news! Have a lovely weekend!
Love that sunrise Dove but missed it this morning! x

Me too. A necessary evil - unless I want to live on twigs and berries.
