Dove , I feel your pain. My laptop is playing up and won't let me use it unless it's plugged in despite being 100% charged.

    Devon.

I think I'm going to have to access Mozilla support next week - and I've got a really busy schedule next week image

Huge firework display and big booms out there tonight!

    Evening everybody.

End of a depressing day. Decided not to join in the political debate on here - I can see all sides of various arguments and then some more. Very confused by the mentality of the people who commit these acts of brutality & have no idea of their rationale in thinking it solves any problems.

At the end of the day I believe we are all humans and that amongst every race, colour, creed, sex, age, levels of mental and physical abilities and financial status there are good people, bad people and gullible people.

Fortunately the vast majority are good, kind, decent people. Unfortunately there is a minority of bad who work on the gullible and cause these problems for everybody else.

I still have faith in human kindness and decency and believe it will ultimately prevail over the bitterness and hatred & make the world a place we still want to live in - even if the bad things still happen. If I didn't believe in that what would be the point in anything?

I have no easy answers to these problems - I would be PM or Home Secretary at least if I did. But I do believe we should take comfort from the numbers queuing to give blood in Paris, opening their doors to strangers caught up in the turmoil of last night and remember that the same thing has happened after every major atrocity round the world. The vast majority of people are kind, compassionate beings.

I'm sorry if any of that sounds naive but I have to believe it.

I agree T'bird - the vast majority of people of all types are decent in the face of atrocity. It's almost impossible to know how countries can deal with this when it's not a level playing field.

Anyway - I've had cake. Sticky, fudgy, choklit cake. Does anyone want a piece? image

  • Edd, I've already cleared the cache - no change - and yes, it happens however I open it.

I get a message telling me that something about Google is unsafe and I may need to download a new 'root'   image  (You'd think a gardener could do that wouldn't you?)

Anyway, I've spoken to son who thinks he knows what to do so as I'm seeing him on Tuesday I'll take my laptop with me.  If he can't fix it I'll take it around to the shop I bought it from, which is near where son lives - I shall just have to be patient. imageimage
