Phhheeeww, fidget, sounds hectic lol. But at least you had a great bargin at the gc!
Just got back from xmas shopping. All finished except for a Next voucher, will get that during week. The Next in T wells was heaving, couldn't be bothered to queue that long. Found clothes brush in Edinburgh wool shop. So all done except the wrapping and fresh food shop. YAY!
Kef, lol nut scones, sorry
Oooh and Kef whats this about men in your bathroom,
Oh Star Gaze you never ask a person about men in their bathroom.
(Just in case they'd had an embarrassing accident getting their toe stuck in the tap and the fire brigade had to be called!)
I don't envy you going out shopping next week! I'm all for shutting the curtains and living off beans on toast until January 12th. I can't stand crowds - even when I was on crutches and could at least swot them when they got too close the idea of venturing into town just filled me with dread.
I had a spare voucher for £5 off £30, at the GC checkout. The man behind me had a dozen amaryllis, and I gave him my spare voucher. He looked at me as if I was mad. Maybe I am.
Not so good at the Post office. Out of time for "lost in post" so had to pay £7 for reissue of car tax disc. He works away a lot but "not realising it hadn't arrived in the post "is not allowed apparently.
Homemade mincemeat has gone down well. I gave a jar away and got a request back for the recipe. Its Staceys, except I used worcester apples instead of russets, accidentally doubled the sugar, and used damson gin instead of brandy, but it still seemed to work ok.
Well, the tree is dressed and sparkly and my Christmas present is hidden in the garage.
I think it's what I asked for it had to be collected from the GC - it's big and had to go in the boot of the car with the lid up. I promised to keep my eyes shut, but as OH doesn't drive it was a bit hairy negotiating the ring road and A11 on the way home
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Opposed fidget that sounds great! It's a very versatile recipe, I do batches without nuts and did a batch with quinces this year as well an it's delicious!!!! I have cards to finish tonight and gifts to wrap and get packaged up to post to Glasgow! My oven is arriving tomorrow phhheeewwwww although I have 2 it's so much easier at christmas..... Then I think I may decorate my Xmas cake.... Clean the kitchen(again) and have some me time!!!!! It's the only chance I'm gonna get so.... lo made cheese straws today and truffles and took them to the neighbour singing happy christmas.... It was so cute and he phoned me to say it melted his heart ( he's 85) which made me happy.... Just got the RHS mag oh it always tempts me sooo much to how I wish my garden looked... I love the rammed in no gaps look but it always just looks a shamble when I do it .... Ahhhh well plenty of time next year to perfect it!!!!! Lol ( bet I don't achieve it next year either!!!)
Wow you lot have been busy and had nice things, soz about tax disc Fidget.
Done today's jobs and just watched Look North, for those in my area, a piece about a new dedicated dementia centre that has been opened. My former collegues and friends they have done so well. I'm as happy as a little piggy in muck.
