Winter song. You've reminded me of our experience last week when we had visitors. The wife always showered mornings and then came out in a cloud of something perfumy.  We (hubby and I) had trouble breathing deeply probably because we have been out of the rat race for several years and the closest we smell is that which wafts up from various farmers coming to town shopping. image

The part I can't imagine is how her employers cope as she works in a doctors clinic.

    Good morning all image

Steve, you didn't get the joke - the perfume is Vetiver ....image

I love Issey Myake but it's a bit pricey for a retired person to wear every day, as is my other favourite Ma Griffe - The Vetiver was only £18 for100ml .

Today I have to keep my eyes open for Yodel to deliver my garden recliner - it could come any time between today and Tuesday - if anyone hears a van pull up outside can you give me a shout please image

    Morning Verdun image

Warm and fuggy here - we had some soft rain overnight but the water butts are still more empty than full - no thunderstorms ......... yet.

Oh dear Pauline - that doesn't sound good - but I've had lots delivered by them before and I have no complaints other than that they tend not to hang around if you take your time answering the door - if I'm in the back garden I leave a note in the porch addressed to Yodel asking them to come through the side gate and yell - it's always worked so far .......... we'll wait and see ........ no point in being in a hurry today 'cos the imminent arrival of a garden recliner seems to have turned the weather ...... image

Hurray. It rained here overnight. The garden finally got watered. I wonder if the stockroom is wet or the sandbags did the job. Id better get dressed and go and find out. Have a good day folks.

  • I think that's true of a lot of delivery companies, Dove. I find it very frustrating.  Our house has 3 floors and sod's law says I'm up top when they come.   And then I get given 3 seconds to get to the door.  I'm too chicken to slide on the banisters....

I ran out frantically barefoot across travel drive once to catch the van only for him to explain he's left it in car port. I then hobbled backimage

and you always have to go to the loo in a hurry in case the delivery comes.

One of the advantages of living in the sticks down lots of very narrow twisty lanes is that delivery drivers - having made the effort to get there, and not wanting to repeat the journey to make a redelivery - all make a real effort to find someone / somewhere to leave parcels with.

Postie also knows where everybody is happy to have parcels stashed & she signs recorded delivery slips on our behalf (she did ask first!). Can't remember the last time we had to visit the sorting office to collect something. image

Some rain here overnight but we need MORE (not a deluge though thanks very much) - very little forecast over next 5 days.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
