Not sure I'd call Panda's Dublin trip a holiday.  If I recall correctly she will be accompanied by hordes of excitable Girl Guides, that she will have to keep under controlimage.  That's my idea of heroismimage.

    its the weekend .....yippeeeeeeeeeeimage

And those nice train people have decided not to strike on the day we are going to Chelsea (would have totally scuppered our plans, so we have been on tenterhooks) ............double yippeeimageimage

Evening all, Well the Nanna 5 day challenge is now complete.  I'm shattered, Mabel finished the week with an infection in both ears and her tonsills, poor mite.

Undergardener got a flea in his ear, some of the plants in the greenhouse might not make it, not sure I believe the declarations about watering each day.

The garden however looks beautiful, can't believe how it's come on in just a few days.  Don't care if it throws it down tomorrow I will be out there, I've missed it so much.

BL looking forward to the thread about the open day, hope your ribs get better soon.

Off to chill out for a while.

    Evening all.

Physio this morning " I'm going to massage your kneecap and it's going to hurt"

    She was right.

I had to succumb at work at 11.15am and come home.

I've spent the afternoon in bed. image

Day off tomorrow " supervising" the moving of 20 tons of topsoil into the raised beds in polytunnel.

Have a lovely weekend one and all.

    Devon.

Hope that the 'cruel to be kind' treatment works Hosta, and that you're soon much more mobile and painfree.

Yvie - poor little one - ear ache is soooooo horrid image

I think Panda deserves a medal - or at least she will after the trip image

Hope tomorrow brings some comfort to you.

chicky - wouldn't fancy trading places with Panda then...imageimageimage

Off to put my feet up for a little while before I go and get daughter from work, then an early night in case a miracle happens with the weather and  I can go for a big walk tomorrow image

    Enjoy your evening everyone

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    Fingers crossed for you Fairygirl

Verdun, what are you like image

Yvie, you've earned garden time! Get well soon Mabel

Hosta, it's so difficult to take it easy but the knee needs TLC

Working weekend for me, Sundays are usually better than Saturdays although I won't bother to explain why, suffice to say, not looking forward to waking up.

Night night all, see you on the other side

Twelve Nunns sent some plant porn with the replacement plant.... just to tempt me.

In the original order, I ordered T. erectum Harvington dark form and  also I had T. flexipes x sulcatum Harvington dusky pink.  They have both flowered and have beautiful flowers.  You can get these potted as growing plants, Verdun, just need a nice fertile soil.  T kurabayashii looks interesting.

I currently have a greenhouse full, a mini polytunnel full, the nursery area full, the patio full. Time to start ripping out the forget me nots and making space for the other plants.

I found two pots of Roscoea purpurea that were leftovers last year when I split a clump up. They are just poking through. The pear tree bed needs careful checking and a bit of weeding to see whats coming through.

Panda... all those kids. sooner you than me. I couldn't eat a whole one.image

So much talk about gardening, a season makes such a difference, everything is growing fast now.

A doctor friend says I have pulled a muscle around the rib cage. Time is the great healer, helped along with painkillers.

I've been busy weeding in the veg garden this afternoon with a friend who came to help. Have made up beds for daughter, SIL and 3 grandsons and hoovered the kitchen and dining room floors. Matty has made an almond tart and dusted the dining room. I've made an apple and dried fruit cake. We went shopping this morning for supplies for the weekend for Sunday salad lunch for Open Garden helpers and lunch for family tomorrow. Son, DIL and baby coming on Sunday too.

So tired I fell asleep in Joe's bit about hanging baskets on GW. nighties all.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

    Evening all!  image

Lovely day at Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal, with sun and a yummy lunch (followed by sticky cake - forgot the "no cake" rule today in honour of OH's birthday...  image )  Wonderful wild flowers.  And hubby enjoyed it too!  image

Nut, I love trilliums too.  Got an un-named seedling from the Harrogate show, because the leaves looked interesting (and it was cheap!).  Not a lot of room in my garden but I had to make room for a trillium.  image

Verdun, you are clearly an astrantia fan.  Do you have a recommendation for someone who has room for only one, please?  Are some better "doers" than others?

I agree with everyone who says Panda deserves a medal, taking Guides away for a holiday.  Hope their parents are properly grateful.  image

And if there are medals for Nannas, Yvie should definitely qualify.  Hard work indeed!  Enjoy your weekend off.
