Sounds as if you've all been having a lovely afternoon shopping and looking at plants.  I gave up trying as every time I went outside the heavens opened.  As soon as I got settled down with the knitting the sun came out - I did go out and check but the wind was cold so I came back indoors again.  Bro told me the farmers' forecast for the week hereabouts is cold and wet so I'll leave seed sowing until things warm up again.

At least the knitting's coming on ... a bit ... I might have it finished in time to wear on our hols ... in September image

Supper's under way in the kitchen, pork chops with braised fennel and orange and new potatoes.

Trimmed the bronze phormium. New plan! OH likes it and says it must stay. Not that MY garden has anything to do with him but...do I really want to dig the brute out by myself? I've added an acre in a pot, think I'll also add some cannas and dahlias in pots for the summer. Would a blue hosta be too much?

If youre  about Hostafan do you have any suggestions? (copying Edds idea of bold text for particular people!image).

Evening all. Just finished the day shift now preparing myself (relaxing in the office eating chocolate) for the night shift (a ghost hunt). I was very happy to see it raining earlier although it didn't seem to hang around very long image My poor garlic wasn't looking happy first thing they could do with a good drink!

Starting to get very dark over Sheffield but I'm not sure if its rain or just night time. We could really do with a cracking thunderstorm to really stir things around: wonder if the "ghost hunters" will agree with me? Bless them we have a chatty bunch here it'll be interesting to hear whose around tonight.

    Have a wonderful evening everyone!

Like the idea of purple geranium verdun, it's on the list (will be ok in my 'sort of jungle' theme alongside cannas n stuff won't it, well even if not it's probably going in anyway!)

Mrs G. a hosta would  never be too much. Maybe Hasdpen Blue,or Halcyon might fit the bill?

we've had the most wonderful  rain here this afternoon. No wind, for a change , so the rain is falling gently downwards soaking all the lovely mulch we've applied over the last couple of days.
