Evening all, no grading for me today as I've been out seeing customers. Reading all the posts about seedlings and gene obtain of various plants I'm hoping I haven't left anything too late. I have no heated propagators and as you all know no greenhouse either at the moment so thought it was too early?? Any thoughts/advice gratefully received and I'm sorting my seeds (again) later.

Clarington, I can never stay cross with my baby for long (she is currently snuggled up next to me!) but she does make a very good foot warmer and she lets people she doesn't like know!! I have told her that I have a home lined up if she EVER touches my hellebores again!! image Unfortunately you can't choose where she digs as she is very stubborn, especially in autumn when she likes to bury the fallen apples (she was s squirrel in a former life!!) image

Tracey - considering how pretty much the entire garden needs attention I think we'd put her to good use!

Left this morning to a few tiny things poking their heads above the heat - came home to these!

They shouldn't grow that fast!!! You must have been able to SEE them shooting up!

(Not sure why its upside down - its fine on the laptop!)

No gardening done today, but yipee we are going to have warm weather from Sat' onwards.image

Went to B&Q pensioners day and bought Levington multi purpose, will report back what that it is like. Also some BFB, have noted Verdun's post so it will be dug in. I've only used Growmore in the past so will see what happens. Did have chicken pellets once and just scattered them image garden ponged for ages.

Then I went to lunch with (an ex work) friend who has a good appetite, so instead of a sarnie or a salad I had a steak and all the trimmings, well she had my onion rings & half my chips, my gallbladder doesn't like them, but I like steak image  Also indulged in two glasses of vino, she insisted imageas she doesn't drink & was driving.

Came home with the intention of doing my ironing lol. Read my garden mag instead.

Fairy hope "Stuff" sorted and you are okay. Hugs if it was upsetting.

MrsGarden hope you like the bob. A couple of Wilko's near here but same as you, no parking.

Verdun a few years ago my office overlooked a credit union office and to be honest I'm glad I didn't have to deal with some of the people who queued outside waiting for it to open. Please note I said some. When it first opened a few of us from work made small deposits that we just left with them when they folded.

Tracey I haven't sewn any edibles yet. Don't use a heated propagator I just wait until temperature in house is constant enough to sew them and cover them with plastic lids. Dining room becomes unusable for a few weeks. This time last year I came back from Caribbean and frantically did my toms & chillies, did wait with cumbers and corgettes, then it snowed and was awful for weeks. They ended up in conservatory with heating on through the night and I had to pot them on twice before it was warm enough to put them in the GH. So no I don't think you are lateimage I usually plan on toms & cumbers going into GH in final buckets mid May. I'm going to sew beetroot and peas in GH, maybe next week.

Archie don't they have a lovely song?

Pdoc, enjoy the break, stuff will still be here when you get backimage

Footie on tonight, so I might watch that.

Clari, I think toms have had too much heat. In light in a warm room they will germinate without extra heat, just cover with a plastic lid. Just think how deep you'll have to plant them with all that stalk. Mine get first set of true leaves when they are about 1& 1/2" tall.
