Hello all!  Thanks very much for good wishes.  image  Slightly less croaky today, so hopefully I'll be full of beans tomorrow when I go to my daughter's to help with the Great Move.

Wintersong, I've been avoiding the clematis at my local GC because I don't seem able to walk past them without one jumping into my trolley...  image  Our garden centre seems, in common with most others, to sell less & less bare root or rootballed stuff.  When I first went to work there in 2006 they had a lot of really cheap rootballed evergreens, good quality too, around this time of year - but fewer & fewer now.  Apparently it's because they don't sell as well as they used to - because Joe Public doesn't like getting his clothes/car boot dirty & would prefer to spend a few pounds more buying something in a pot.  (You'd be amazed how many women I saw, when I worked there, tottering round the garden centre in their high heels...  Don't think they "did" dirt!)  image  So I suppose internet shopping is the way to go for bare root things now.

Lovely blue sky this afternoon, sun glinting off the snow.

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Lyn lovely picture of your pond even if your garden is covered in snow.

It's been sunny all day but the wind has been bitterly cold we still have snow/ ice in some places, far too cold to spend any length of time outside image

Liri I do dirt well never been to a GC looking half decent image Hope you feel tip top tomorrow.

Verdun I hope all remains ok in your neck of the woods.

Bill enjoy your fish & chips and stay warm.

No plant buying for me until I have made some new beds to plant them inimage

Hello all. Just peeking in for a few mins. Men are here again (came yesterday evening) doing the boiler instead of coming tomorrow for the day. Bit of upheaval but that's how it is. At least I won't have to boil kettles for washing dishes!  Snow, sleet hail and ice here yesterday and today but the council didn't seem to think it was necessary to do any gritting until this afternoon...image

Didn't really get above freezing yesterday and not much better today but positively tropical compared to Bill. Stay tucked up and warm Mr and Mrs Bill image

Off to get other daughter soon as she's getting some shopping for me image

Will go and see what you're all up to image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Hi Fairy glad boiler is getting sorted I've complained about our weather but it's better than yours and poor Bill's. image

Cricky Verdun that doesn't sound good but at least it was only their televisions not their plants or housesimage Keep your hands in your pockets until the weather has passed.

Off to cook now so all stay warm when you finally get home and enjoy your evening.

Fairy I hope they get your boiler up and running soon.  You must be frozen every time you move away from a heater.  Heaven knows what the weather will throw at us nextimage.

Enjoy your fish and chips Bill.  It will be good to get out of the house after so longimage

Although you didn't get everything you wanted you did pretty well Wintersongimage

Lovely pic of the snow Lyn.  Hope you've got everything possible battened down.  That goes for you too Verdun.  It sounds quite bad your way.

Hope the move goes smoothly Liri.  Perhaps you should book a ticket for your first visit nowimage  KEF I never look particularly stylish at a garden centre either but my Mum will not go anywhere without dressing up and putting make-up on.  I think I take after my Dad.

Rb - your snowdrops are lovely.  If it wasn't for you I would have had no exercise at all this afternoonimage
