  • Oh Verdun, hope your mum is ok. Hope she didn't hurt herself when she fell. Know what you mean, some nurses are wonderful, but some should choose to do another job. Very best wishes to you both. Love and hugs x

Oh Verd..I'm so sorry. That's not what you need to hear just now with your mum. As you say, good and bad wherever you go.

I've plenty of jobs here if you're at a loose end...bring a spade.. image

Having a lazy few hours this morning..body's protesting after all my grafting yesterday. Struggling to get the white buddliea out as it's rooted under some concrete or old piece of access road or something. May have to wait till the digger comes to do extension. It'll probably have grown five feet by then image

Verdun ((hugs))  - if a patient has a fall it will be because the hospital is at fault - that may affect how it is recorded image  however it must be recorded correctly as it will inform her assessment for care both in and out of hospital.  Also it is quite likely that having fallen a patient will become agitated - inexperienced nurses can, in my experience, be quite frughtened if a patient with a diagnosis of dementia.  That is understandable - a friend of mine who is a Community Nurse had her nose broken by a confused 'little old lady'.  However in a hospital the support should be available to keep everyone safe - of course, that will have to be assessed for when staffing numbers are being budgeted for image  So as I said, it's important that such things are properly recorded, not just in your mum's notes but on the ward records.
