Crooked sweet peppers

Hello, everybody! My name is Helen, from Russia. This summer the sweet yellow peppers (fruits) changed their form and got crooked. They grew in the hot house. What was strange: not all of them - I had about 60 plants. Only the ones that were planted near the entrance to the hot house. When I cut out all crooked fruits and leaves on the affected plants I found out an anthill in th corner of the hothouse. I tried to find an answer to the problem but alas... Some of my neighbours say it's a virus; some- genetic mutation. What worries me- can I plant anything on this place without any working by chemicals? Thanks a lot.
