Have never done it but there was a segment on GW last week that covered it (still on iPlayer if you're quick) - something about not using the most dwarfing rootstock gets you more vigour in a pot- bit counter intuitive (might have misunderstood)
I've got mine in pots eh. I bought two Bramleys (although they don't look much like Bramleys !) from B&Q earlier this year and they're in large pots. Nice little crop of fruit on them. I'll see if I can post a pic tomorrow.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Eh - here's one of mine. The cane they're staked to is attached to the fence behind for the moment as in windy weather they were taking a battering! I don't have a place prepared for them at the moment but once I do they'll be staked properly. I'm going to put a few crocus round the bottom for the time being as well. The pot is about 15" (38cm) across - it's a lemon pot.

Yes chick- he gets everywhere! The pot he's in is a bit further along to the right and I just trained him both ways along the wires. He'll be going in properly when I get the bed built - one of the posts for them in the pic too!

Thank you all for the advice. I've just bought 2 Bramley trees and a couple of half barrels for planting. Hope I manage as good a crop as yours next year Fairygirl!

I have to agree - most unusual Bramleys I've ever seen FG

What do the apples taste like - are they ripe yet?
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
The other one has less fruit Dove and they look about ready so I'll give you an update when I try it! Perhaps I waved my wand accidentally one day....
Bit disappointed as I really fancied Bramleys for pies! Never mind.
