  • Can anyone advise on the best type of paths to have between veg beds.  I am starting my garden veg plot and don't want to have to do the work twice because I got it wrong the first time!

  • Can anyone please help I have a very boring brick paved rear garden, with fencing at the back and to the sides. I need ideas on how to spruce it up, I have a lovely conservatory but my garden is so bare and boring. I also have a large shed at the back it the left hand corner.

Hi Billie, image to get your question noticed you may be better off starting a new thread. Pictures help..     to upload pictures click on green tree icon at top left of toolbar image although I don't think that works from a phone. Good luck image

Hi there, we are complete novices in the gardening world. We have just bought our first home and feel very lucky to have a small garden of our own. It is a total blank canvas and we have no idea about where to start! there is a small areas of patio paving by the house and then an average sized grass area that leads down to a huge, concrete grey double garage. We would love to transform it into a useful and pleasant space. The garden is boggy and muddy and it seems that local cats have been here a few times and left mess behind. Would anybody be able to help out with a suggestion about where to start? Thank you for your time.

CRO - I would start a new thread and maybe include some pictures (upload them from your PC using the icon which is a pic of a tree on the menu bar).

As the others have suggested - a new thread and some photos will be brilliant - looking forward to seeing your new garden. image

  • Hi,

I have recently moved to a flat with a balcony and am a keen amateur gardner.  However, after moving in last spring I potted plants that I thought were hardy but as till now there doesn't appear to be any new shoots on them image  I think the balcony tends to be rather shady and perhaps windy - it is over looking river thames (if that makes any difference?) But it is a side facing balcony.  Does anybody know what sort of plants would be suitable for my balcony? Also, have bought cascading pussy willow if anyone can advise me I would be very grateful

    Kind regards

You can hopefully see the lavender planting inside the box hedging, I have lost it all this year and need to replant, question is with what? The lavender always struggled all ideas welcome

Hi LP your garden is so beautiful 😍 shame about the lavender ☹️
Is there a path between the box, lavender and fir trees?
    is it a sunny spot?
The roses in the foreground look gorgeous, could you mirror this border?
