Have just recently bought a hydranga and the leaves are going brown. Is this ok or is it dieing??

They're deciduous shrubs Veronica so the leaves will go brown and die off for the winter. New growth will appear in the spring

Thank you. Its a paniculata hydranga, looks more tender than the normal type, so was a bit concerned. Thanks again.
I think as long as they're out of really exposed windy sites they should be fine. It's cold winds or severe frosts that tend to frazzle them a bit, but it doesn't usually see them off. There's a large sandstone house set back from the road near where I used to live and the front garden slopes down to the road and is shady with lots of trees. It's full of white paniculatas and they look stunning just now. Passed them today and they really glow.

They do still need watered as newly planted and it has been dry.
Yes have been doing that, just concerned about this one as didn't look as robust as my other types of hydrangas many thanks
