Unusual kiwi

Hello!
When I was growing up in Italy we had a kiwi plant that grew small fruits with an edible skin, that tasted of strawberries. Does anyone have any idea what this was, and where I could get one?

i'm just picking up on your 'edible skin' comment; pretty much all kiwi skin is edible though the furry skin has a texture that won't please everyone.
