My Chilli plant is immense, but what about over winter?
in Fruit & veg
Hi,
My chilli plant has done very well this year and I am still getting new flowers and chillis from it. But what happens over winter, will it die? Should I bring it inside?.....What shall I do with it?
thanks

Hi Pokhim,
Chillis are a perennial plant and you can bring these inside over winter. Just pot them up give them a trim and place them on a north facing window sill and they'll be tickity boo!
Pokhim.... as above trim it back to a future leaf bud and it will over winter happily.... Word of warning if they have been outside they are v prone to whitefly which is messy more than damaging. I always use a pest stick ( don't know name) to ward them off...
Thanks! What's the best way to prune these? i.e. how much should I take off?..
Take off to a new leaf growth or a short spur.... what variety is it?
