Hi Kate... Already have a few hundred Giant Sunflowers on the go at Cantley Manor but not the Russian Giant vareity...looking forwards to germinating a few more and seeing how we all do...Game On :-)
I've never grown sunflowers but promised myself that this year I would try. Our back garden has sun almost all day, I'm planning to grow mine in a tub against the bungalow wall which heats up nicely. That will hopefully help my sunflowers along. I'll give them a dose of nettle feed as well, and maybe some mulch. Might as well do what I can to see what happens. I'm not expecting miracles but even a reasonable height will please me. I'm only 4ft 10ins so I'll see if the sunflower can beat me.
I am trying to send a picture etc of my sunflower for the gardeners world competition but I cannot find a link for it and the email address that I have found just sends my email back as not delivered....HELP [email protected]

Can anyone please help identify these giants in this thread?
Thank you!
