Autumn Onion Sets

Each morning numerous onions have been dug up, not eaten but just left on the ground.  We think this is caused by foxes.  Can anybody recommend a suitable method of protection not involving chemicals and also where we can buy this protection ?

Start your onion sets off in modules, until they have roots.  It is birds thinking the tops are food, or whatever blackbirds think.

Yes, its birds what done it!

Alternatively put some mesh over them.

Foxes will dig things up if you have used bonemeal before planting. They're searching for the bone.

Do as welsh onion says, and net them from the birds.
