  • Great blog Kate - thank you. Folk replacing lost habitat like this is THE most important thing we can be doing for bumblebees.
  • i was overjoyed last year to find that a small bumblebee colonie was nesting in the spaces of my dry stone wall, very near or in the same site where i had a nest of wasps the year before . the dry stone wall is selfmade(was very chuffed with myself) and consists only of rough flatish stones(not cut), about knee high with soil behind which makes a raised bed for my raspberries -neither species took any exception to me standing infront harvestin. the wall gets only limited morning sun as the garden is walled in as well
