Post 481 Mrs Rudolf wants to get her nose out of the straw bag how can MD have being gardening 50yrs when he is only 54 and admits he hated gardening as a child. Also he is a big hypocrite after what he has said in the past and if he thinks that to come back is going to make his garden good again by the production assistants so all he has to do is look good in front of the camera then THINK AGAIN. If you read the Wikipedia Page on him you will find out more.
On Friday I waded in my gardening boots through all 350+ posts then wrote one myself. Today I've gone through 100+ more and read with interest some of the worthwhile comments and the not so interesting It was interesting to read TB's web page because it listed his qualifications which are as good as AT's any-day.
Alys used to look after Berryfields for the rest of the time when the cameras were away as head gardener her qualifications are like reading a early version of AT's You don't get a scholarship at New York's Botanical Gardens for nothing!!! Read her Wikipedia page as well. We enjoyed her way of doing things and will look out for any programs she's in.
As to the fact that we are going back to the presenters garden if some of you remember way back Barnsdale was an open field next to Geoff's House which he developed for TV. all right Greenacres was not next to Toby's house but it was on a similar basis and only about two thirds developed and had the potential to become as another post said become a visitors garden, Like Barnsdale.
Tomorrow morning I would hope that the powers that be spend a couple of hours reading through these by then 500+ posts and take note of what has been said.
I will not be watching the next series of GW. Toby and Alys were the only presenters worth watching on this programme. Toby always reminded me of Geoff Hamilton and his exciting approach to gardening. Monty is so boring. GW should reinstate both Toby and Alys before the programme collapses completely.
Well I'm gutted Toby has been replaced in this shake up at GW - I started to take an interest in gardening when Toby took over and even gave up some golf time to weed my plot. He made things so interesting and understandable that even I could get to grips with gardening. Please bring Toby back otherwise I'm going to be teed off (literally) on the 1st tomorrow, rather than composting.
Over the moon that Monty is back - together with Carol and Joe. My husband is also thrilled that Rachel is back too! It can't have been easy for Toby to step in at such short notice, when Monty was taken ill and having to establish a new garden. Well done to both him and Alys. PLEASE let the viewers have a decent handover from Greenacres to Monty's home or it will leave us all up in the air, and of course,it would be courteous too.
glad to see monty back shame joe swift is still going to be with us , i think alice fowler would of been a better choice & in a real garden much better. i hope they will show a better understanding of what people actually do in their gardens & give advice accordingly also less wasteful projects would be good
I am so, so pleased to see Monty back at the helm of Gardener's World and just as important that the programme will, once again, come from an established garden. I love Carol's enthusiasm and passion for plants which makes you feel like you are in a sweet shop and so excited at being spoilt for choice. I look forward to seeing more of Joe - in the gardening sense of course! And Rachel - well a little bit of sophistication goes a long way! Can't wait until March team!
Chris Beardshaw, or someone else of his calibre, should be presenting the BBC's main gardening programme.
He has to be included, if only for guest appearances, as he is the only person with the academic knowledge about the plants and how to grow them as well as enormous invectious enthusiasm.

He hasn't even reappeared yet, and already I'm dreading his return - not that I'll be watching.
The worst presenter of GW ever - bar none. Why, why, why bring him back?
