Green manure

What would you recommend for a small garden? I have previously used field beans and buckwheat. The seeds I have has run out so I thought I'd try something new.

I grew one of the Vetches a couple of years ago. Worked well for me.
I put alfalfa down at the end of July, first time trying so will provide feedback after winter.
I thought Hungarian grazing rye was really hard to work with. Digging in and such. Better google vetches as I have no idea what that is.
I can't remember where I got the seed, Swedboy. I thought it was T&M but they don't seem to carry them. Perhaps they don't anymore. Seeds are like small sweet pea seeds. Grew well, and good weed-suppressant qualities too.
I have grown phacelia tanacetifolia. I did not dig it in though. I let it flower and the bees thought it was great. I then ripped it out and put it on the compost heap.
Try the organic gardening catalogue for supplies. Much cheaper than little seed packets.

I got a winter mix from mr Forthergill's at my local garden centre which contains crimson and broad leaf clover, Westerwolths rye grass and white tilney mustard plus some prince claus crocuses I quite like the look of.
I used a summer green manure mix with phacelia, mustard and vetch and it has worked very well on my deep beds I sow it in august after lifting onions
mustard is a good one, easy to grow and breaks down great
