Hi, can anyone please recommend a low growing hardygeranium for front of border. The one I planted is about 3' tall, not sure which variety, but it will have to go. Also , can someone recommend a shocking pink sweet pea,I only seem to get them in mixed seed packets. Would love to grow a lot more.

    Geranium wallichianum "Buxton's blue" aka "Buxton's variety" is an excellent low-growing hardy perennial which can be used as ground cover and has beautiful blue flowers.  I have this everywhere there is any soil showing!  Seeds come true too.image

    Sue if you like strong colours Anne Folkard is a bright magenta with a black centre. Very long flowering and about 15/18" high. Used to grow it with dark purple foliage plants and limey euphorbias as it has brighter green leaves - a bit like the colour of Alchemilla.

    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    PS -  I also used to have Kashmir White which had fine purple veining and was about the same height image

    Geranium dalmaticum, very low, comes in white and pink. 

    G. Russell Pritchard, bright magenta.

    Cultivars of G, sanguineum, I've got one called 'Glenluce', but there are a lot more.

    If you want smaller ones look in the alpine section at GCs rather that the border plants. They're not alpines but that word means small plants in GC speak

    Dunno addict - it self seeds itself here too.  Perhaps it likes clay - what soil do you have?
