Pyracantha problems

BerkleyBerkley Posts: 431

I'm 99 per cent sure that my pyracantha is suffering from scab. Has anyone found a fungicide that is effective? I understand that many of them have no effect.

Scab on Pyracanthas? Can you give us a quick peek of your scab please?

Sorry, all evidence removed and burnt: main symptoms: berries which form but the majority turn brown/black. Some defoliation. Symptoms not "sudden" enough to be fireblight. I read somewhere that a fungicide has to contain a certain ingredient to be effective against pyracantha scab, but I can't remember what it was! Am hoping someone will know....

Thanks, Verdun. That is just the info. I wanted. I will now be able to identify the most effective fungicide. Thanks again. P.S. No, no pears - one less worry!
