What I meant to say was, are there just the two of you with nobody else for miles around, like me and my neighbour, or could he not know who had reported him because there are other neighbours close by?
Diddy, if you do nothing for fear of reprissal, then you are going to live with what you have for however long you or the neighbour stay there. I can't tell you how much I wish I had dealt with my problem sooner. Yes, the owner was very unpleasant and it unnerved me but at least I did it. If it was still going on, I would have no qualms in taking the complaint further, regardless of the consequences. We are all entitled to live in peace and quiet, with the normal neighbourly noise and should not have that destroyed by one person's unreasonable behaviour.
Several neighbours moaned to me about the doggie problem, but no-one would do anything. Bet they're now glad I did!! Apathetic lot.
they were at it from five oclock this morning, then he must of come down and was yelling at the top of his voice telling then to shut up.Maybe he must be getting p....d off with the racket that they are making.I was'nt sure which was worse, him or the dog's.
I feel sorry for you,I have a similar situtation but not as bad.Its the owner at fault not the dogs and since you live next door and he has a shotgun its not an easy thing resolve without bringing in the the authorities.
I simply dont want to upset the family as they seem quite nice,it's just the other side of him i dont like.He claims he's a landscape gardener, that's a joke.I've been offering him surplus plants since he moved in,but refuses them.
Exactly Break! I would hear the dog start and my heart would sink and eventually, I would come in from the garden or have to close doors and windows. You have to do something positive for your own sanity and peace of mind, regardless if you upset anyone. I met my neighbour for the first time on Friday and we were polite to each other, albeit a bit strained. I can live with that.
tina.. get yours self one of those dog repellent sound thingys.. cant remember name of them.. it gives out high pitch tone with only dogs can hear ... they are hand held for about a £5 or youcan get ones for in trees which have a range of about 40ft.. so that should stop them.. just put in search ..dog deterrent.. and you should find it.. put it in ya garden near their side and the dogs should shut up..
the hand held ones run on batteries and we got one for nipper when on his bikes.. as dog owners never controlled their dogs around him.. so now he can just push the button and they run off.... very fast.. he feels much safer now.. and hubby strapped it to his handlebars..
i cant stand people that allow their dogs to bark all the time..drives me mad.. we nearly got an air horn thingy to let off each time our neighbours dog barked.. but though no.. so just got one of these pitch derrent.. works great..
Break, I wouldn't have cared if, after greeting her, she had blanked me. I know from what you have written that you were living under the same cloud as I was and also know what it's like for that to be lifted. Just wish I had done it sooner.
GF, did toy with the idea of getting one of those contraptions but went for the jugular instead. The owers had to be brought to account for their irresponsible behaviour. I found the statement by them, that the person who had charge of him for the fortnight whilst they were away hadn't found he barked unnecessarily, to be a bit of a fib, as I believe this person was the one that actually cured him of it. Just showed it can be done. When he starts now, I hear someone clap and he stops.
