Almost my entire brassica patch is being affected by something(s) seriously eating the hearts of my calabrese, cauliflowers, and now brussel sprouts - not the leaves (cabbages too were unaffected), just the hearts and the sprouts themselves. I live in a rural location in Cumbria and my garden has access by all manner of wildlife, but having lived here and tended this garden for almost 25 years, I have never experienced this problem before. Any ideas?

One year something ate all the hearts of my broccoli, but it was easy to see what it was as it left mouse droppings behind!
