Should I trim the tips off my lavender bushes now they have finished flowering?
If you leave the flower heads on the finches will have the seeds in the winter. Otherwise, trim it down hard to keep the shape, but dont cut into brown wood.
I usually trim the plant down by a third but as fidgetbones says never cut into the old wood.
