certainly looks like plum family. cut it in half to see what the stone looks like.
That pic looks just like my bullaces. As fidgetbonessays, cut it in half. If it's got a stone like a plum and tastes like a plum and dropped off a tree, it's probably a plum

Looks like a Bullace to me, three common types; White,Essex and Royal. White is the smallest Royal largest at approx 3cm. If it is a Bullace tree try very yummy jam or Bullace Vodka .
