Indoor ferns

Quick qu ... before we vaporise!

I have Boston and Maidenhair ferns inside.  Do they benefit from feeding?  I feed my Peace Lilies with some slow release granules once a yr in spring.  Would my ferns like to be put on the rota?  I don't feed my outside ones, but, of course, they are in the ground, so better able to fend for themselves.

I have an asparagus fern which almost died from neglect after being moved for decorating.  I revived it initially with plain water and have been feeding it with a home-made solution made from soaking banana skins in water - OH has a banana with his daily Weetabix so there's a plentiful supply.

When the 1.5 litre pot is full I strain it ino a watering can, dilute it about 4 parts water to one part solution.  I've been feeding this to all my houseplants in turn for a few months now and they are all very pleased with themselves.

Goodness, that does sound dedicated. 👍  Is it the potassium they like, do you think?

Yes.  The banana skins still end up on the compost heap but now the houseplants get a go too.  We now add the peel of one large oorange each week as that apparently helps as an insecticide.
