star jasmine trachelospermum jasminoides
in Plants
Afternoon everyone,
Just saw the update that the forum will be closing down in March. Such a shame everyone on here has been so helpful with regards to my questions and I appreciate all of the info provided. I will make use of the forum until the 20th!
I just wanted to ask a question about this star Jasmine I bought last year. It's not in the best place but get sun and partial shade and I wanted it to grow up the living willow wall. I still haven't got around to training it up a metal obelisk for the time being and to be honest I really should have brought it in over winter or planted it in a pot. I did cover it during very cold spells but there is a lot of debt leaf matter though. They're on you shoots when scratching the bark. It is green underneath but I don't know whether I should cut quite a lot back or uproot and put in a pot or even move somewhere else. Or maybe I should just leave it for the coming season? Any advice greatly appreciated. Best James
P.s. I have cut some of the worst shoots off with the very brown dead leaves so it did look much worse than it does in the photo

The only thing to be aware of is that they are very vigorous, very strong climbers when they get going and I doubt whether a living willow wall is going to be strong enough to support the growth. They can grow up to 7m or more h x w.
