Avocado Twin Stems

I have an avocado plant with two stems, (one on the right). Is it best to remove the smaller one so as to speed up development?
Many thanks for any help

It all depends what you want them to do...surely not aiming for fruit and a multistem would look pretty. But as they won't be happy long-term without you having a heated glasshouse on offer, nothing wrong if one of them takes its time to grow so you get to enjoy it a bit longer.

When I grow them, once they’ve  reached about 18”  I cut them down to about 3 nodes … this creates an elegant shrubby houseplant rather than a telegraph pole with leaves.

I started doing this after seeing the one at Jim Eades’ house at Kettle’s’ Yard in Cambridge.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
