Sweet pea seedlings

Rookie error, I know, but I sowed my seeds indoors, too warm, and my sweet peas have grown very leggy.

I learnt from @Lyn many years ago that with cosmos you can pot them up, and bury the stem. Can you do this with sweet peas too?

Up to a point, but the best solution is to sow more, and don't cosset them. You coul dpinch the tops out of the ones you have, and also put them on a cooler windowsill.

I don't sow mine for another couple of weeks. By the time they've germinated and grown enough to be filling the pots with their roots, they can be acclimatised to the outdoor conditions, or go into the cold gr'house or a cold frame or similar.
I sow 3 or 4 to a 3 inch pot, but deep ones as they have long roots. That means they're well established by the time they're filling those.  :)

Pinch the tops out down to 2 or 3 leaf joints …  I always do that and you get much sturdier bushy plants.
