  Purple toadflax. valerian red pink or white. Scarlet pimpernel. Pulmonaria. Centaurea

  Phacelia? I planted a patch of it last year, mixed the seeds with cornflowers, poppies, nigella and poached egg flowers. Didn't notice any slug problems, it flowered for ages and I reckon that I also got a flower from every single seed in the cornflower packet. Not sure how suited it is to container growing though.   Ox eye daisies [Leucanthemum vulgare], but they can become very 'extensive' if the conditions suit them. On poorer ground they're good with common poppies.
  Nigella is also good.
