Brown yew

I planted a row of yew for a hedge before the winter. They’re on a ridge so out of standing water, plenty of rotted matter and mulch and they’ve recently been given some fertiliser.

One plant has gone completely brown. Do I continue to try and revitalise this plant, do I leave it and will the hedge over time fill in the gap or should I dig it out now?
