Growing Sunflowers to attract birds

    I grew these last year - seeds from PremierSeedsDirect, I think they were the Red Sun ones.  Masses of flower heads on each plant, the bees loved them and the squirrels made off with a head or too. A lot of the fancy ones are deliberately bred to be sterile and produce no pollen so I wouldn't entertain the thought of them in the garden.

    Thank you @Fairygirl for the invitation, I am considering joining GC, but like everyone else it will take some time to get used to as I am not good with change and I am a bit of a techno phobe ! hope to 'see you on the other side'. Meanwhile thank you for all of your brilliant posts and advice.

    It isn't as terrifying or difficult as some people are suggesting @Meomye. Take a bit of time to look around the site, and join when you feel able. They're a bit overwhelmed with all the new additions, but are very helpful and welcoming. The mods actually do some proper moderating too, and won't stand for the nonsense that some folk here have indulged in, which is a relief.  :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
