Total failure!

I thought it would be a great idea to plant seeds into the 30 plug mats this year instead of the red solo cups.  It was a total failure I think because I wasn't able to check them but once a week and the compost dried out too quickly.  I'm scrambling now trying to catch up. Going back to my red solo cups.  I am trying some aluminum cups this year also.  I think the aluminum cups should last much longer.

How do you get the plants out of those trays? Are they metal?

I should think you're right on the reason the plugs didn't work. They dry out much faster than the cups.

were you asking a question about the alu ones?

I'm trying the aluminium cups to see if they will last longer.  My red cups are only lasting 2to3 years.
