Chandos Beauty pruning

My 3 year old Chandos Beauty has produced some wonderful blooms. It gets very tall (about 6')  How low can I prune it?  It had a trim about 3 months ago - base is quite thick. How low can I prune it?

Chandos Beauty is a Hybrid Tea rose so you can prune it hard, even as low as 6 ins. That will encourage it to make more shoots from the bottom.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • Thanks for your reply Busy-Lizzie. I was just a bit wary as there is no sign of buds on the lower part of the stem. 🤔

They will appear once it's been pruned. They are probably just like little lines on the stems at the moment.

  • Thanks for your advice. I've pruned as low as I can. The main stem lower down is too thick for my secateurs 🥵
