Dahlias!

Has anyone started uncovering theirs yet?  We're on very sandy soil so leave them in over winter topped with a mound of soil to stave off the worst of the frosts.  But I never know when to start scraping the soil back so they can start their year...

I think it's too soon, March has hardly started.

Mine take off end of April

Mine are indoors. It's the only place that I can keep them reliably dry enough over winter.
In your situation, I'd just wait until you actually see new growth @Rob Lockwood, and when temps and conditions are decent enough for them to thrive. No point in tempting fate.
As @Busy-Lizzie says - it's only the beginning of March, and that's very early- still, even in areas that are warmer and with lighter soil  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Far too early, here. I dig mine up, but don't start them off in the cold g/h until April.
How can you lie there and think of England
