Plant Identification help needed please

I've noticed these two plants growing at the base of my silver birch trees for the last 2/3 years. I've never seen them flower. One has very solid green leaves and the other is a more mottled colour. The top suggestion from the plant id app I use is Alexanders, but I've never spotted that growing anywhere in my location (Somerset/Dorset border - and I go out for walks most weeks looking for wild flowers). Anyone got a firm ID?

Can you have a look at the stems for us please … is there a groove running up them?

Yes the stems have a groove like a thin celery stem. And the leaves smell rather pleasantly of celery. The plant app suggested Alexanders but it's something I've never noticed growing locally.

Celery smell suggest Celery or Lovage.
