Hellooo!

I've been evading tech for a few months so I've not been here for ages! Hope you're all happy and embracing early spring!
My big Dicentra certainly is eager, it's not even 6" tall yet!
Mind you, I had a wild yarrow and a strawberry both flowering in December.. 😮

Hello @Slow-worm … good to see you. I had a white dicentra … it never got any bigger …  think the molluscs got it in the end 😔

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

Must look for my dicentra in the morning...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

    Thank you Dove. 😊
This one usually gets to a couple of foot at least! Everything's going barmy!
  • I took pictures from my garden last weekend after seeing that daffs were out mid February, 3 weeks earlier, and discovered that the white and red dicentra plants have flowers. They are normally a half a meter high, and have still some way to go.

    I my garden.

Hope all is well @Slow-worm - enjoy your plot, and being back on here  :)
Strawberries in December? Wow. I have a couple of different yarrows which produces some foliage late in the year, but that's been knocked back.
Dicentras are only just getting going in my garden, and that's quite early for them. White ones only. One of my favourite plants, but they perform well here as the conditions suit them.
If you fancy a small division @Dovefromabove just let me know and I'll split one later. I have several clumps from the original plant   :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

My Dicentra was hiding. It looks like we’re quite a bit behind here.

Carmarthenshire (mild, wet, windy). Loam over shale, very slightly sloping, so free draining. Mildly acidic or neutral.

On the contrary Emerion, ours are way ahead! I hope they don't peak too early cos I do love seeing them throughout spring.
