Honeysuckle Suckers??

I have a few of these red stemmed shoots coming out of the base of my potted honey suckle. The leaves look different to the rest of the plant - more of a cut leaf shape. Should I remove them?

That’s just how some young honeysuckle leaves look. I’ve never heard of any honeysuckle plants being grafted so those can’t be ‘suckers’.

Train those new stems up the support … your plant is growing normally … and ideally it needs to be planted into the ground … failing that a much larger container 😊

Agree with the above.  Normal young growth.  Best in the ground but if it has to remain in a container, you will need a large one for it to be happy.  There appear to be a lot of exposed roots so I suspect the current pot is too small to accommodate the plant.

I had a lot of those suddenly appear in my garden, and was puzzled enough to take a photo and submit it to a plant id app - which promptly said "honeysuckle". Of course, I've got tons of the stuff!

Yes thats the same as mine. So presumably the leaves will become more rounded? I'm confused because the new leave now emerging from the rest of the plant are smooth edged despite emerging at the same time.

Nothing to be confused about … it’s just what honeysuckles do 😊
