Moss

I weeded a bed in my garden yesterday and found a thick blanket of moss covering the whole area.
There should be enough moss for all of the birds in the area to line their nests this year!

My back lawn is more moss than grass. The front drive had so much moss on it we had to power wash it.  Still, on the plus side , the reservoirs are full and overflowing, we should not need a hosepipe ban this year.

My garden has been getting really mossy too, I don't ever dig the shady border and it's gone mad there, which is great as it's very dry.
Since last year the moss has spread over so much of my little lawn, that I'll probably just leave it - hopefully it'll smother the flippin' creeping buttercup and I won't have to dig them all out, again.
I don't know if it will.

If it wasn't for the fact that I don't like 'Japanese styled' gardens @Allotment Boy, I could easily do that! The north facing bits of gravel paths are largely moss by the end of winter, but I have areas which are south facing and they get moss on them too. Easy to remove though, and once the sun gets high enough they die back a bit.  :)
I don't bother about the moss in the front grass @Slow-worm. It is what it is. Once things warm up and dry out, the grass takes over. It's only when people want a bowling green that they tend to get a bit paranoid about it all. Most gardeners generally want a reasonably green space, and don't mind a few weeds etc here and there. Much better for the blood pressure too...
It won't block those buttercups though  ;)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
