Repairing holes in low garden wall

  • Thanks again. Looking at the cost of some cladding options, I'm tempted to just buy a load of treated wood and build the cladding myself!

    My concern would be that without stopping the penetration of moisture through the wall,  it will become weaker then crumble and collapse … destroying any cladding you’ve installed.

    We used treated decking boards for raised beds which have worked very well so far (3 horizontal ones screwed to posts so I don't see why something similar wouldn't work screwed to your wall, once you've chipped off all the render. Any moisture penetration would then likely drip in the gap between boards and wall.

    Doves right - don't be tempted to cover the issue up. It need'nt be costly in financial terms, it'll just take a bit of your time to identify the problem and deal with it.
