Young penstemons

B3B3 Posts: 27,505
I planted some penstemon plugs last year. They are all growing well but none of them is over a foot high.
Am I right in assuming that I should just let them get on with it this year or should I give them a light prune in the spring?

When I take cuttings, I always pinch out the top so they get bushy before growing tall.
So I'd reduce the height to make them bush out.

Those in my garden have come through winter (so far) still in full leaf and are about 18".
So I'll cut them back to about 3-4" in a few weeks.
