Euonymus Japonicus Albomarginata planting distance

How far from the rear fence should I plant this, please.  I have 15 to put in and want to leave sufficient space to enable reasonable access to prune once or twice a year.  Maximum and minimum distance (in inches, if possible, please!) would be helpful. Thank you.

If there's a solid fence there, they'll just grow up to the fence and stop anyway, but if the fence has gaps and you're concerned about it growing through to a neighbour or similar then you'd probably need to leave a couple of feet at least, for your access, plus another 18 inches or so for the depth of the hedging, depending on the overall look and depth you want for it. That would mean a fair old ingress into your garden, especially when you add a similar depth on your side for it to grow, but if that isn't a problem, that would be about right for space.  :)

If you are going to prune the back of the hedge then the gap needs to be wide enough to accommodate your breadth, plus a bit for ease of movement when using the implement required. 😉

If I was planting it along a fence I would plant it 12" from the face and then clip it against the fence, leaving no gap. It will become a semi-climber. I can't see it causing a major issue with the fence, the odd bit may grow through but it's not going to do much harm.
