Disappointing Chimonanthus

For about the 5th year, there's been not one single flower on my Wintersweet. Plenty of leaf and it gets plenty of sun. What am I doing/not doing?  Tempted to did it up. Appreciate some advice. Thanks

    More often than not maybe patience is required here ; I planted a 2' high Chimonanthus praecox eight-years ago for a client .
    The first flowers were last year but well worth the seven-year wait !!! :/
