Pond Waterfall Problems

I have a Garden Pond with a Hozelock Filter System at the back and a Waterfall.
The water arrives from the Pump into the Filter powerfully but leaves the Filter weakly and therefore the Waterfall is just dripping.
Anyone else experiencing this issue ?
Many thanks
Cliff

Does the filter need cleaning maybe?

Sounds like your filter needs cleaned.
  • Thanks for your quick comments.
There is a maintenance task I was told to do weekly which involves turning a handle until the water goes clear which I have been doing more and more often.
I think I will contact the people who installed the Pond for advice.
But they're not very helpful !!

I perform a Filter handle turning maintenance every week as advised

Can you collect and inspect the filter-handle-turning material?  That might tell you where the problem is coming from - algae, mud, dead leaves, dead fish ...

    Tackle the problem at source.
location: Surrey Hills, England, ex-woodland acidic sand.

  • Hi Thank you for your reply
I don't know how to do that.
I have contacted the people that installed Pond-it's two years old-and the Filter manufacturer for advice

The people on the pond forum that I mentioned would be able to help and would probably be quicker and more friendly.
