  • Stem pruned. Thank you! Can you recommend what a good feed would be?

I've bought some lovely bare root roses last year, mainly inspired by the fabulous rose gardens at Port Sunlight village, which is down the road from me. Nice demonstration of David Austin's roses

For roses, it's important to buy a feed that contains trace elements, these are essential for good roses, macronutrients and micronutrients,  like those listed below.
This is what I use, ignore that it doesn't say 'roses' on the label, it's good for everything really, and is the equivalent to the old David Austin Rose feed.  For roses use 30 grams per rose around the base, watered in if dry.

  • Excellent. Would you prefer a solid feed over a soluble one (only as I have some of the latter)?

I'm looking forward to a good season of new roses! I'll post an update once my alleged lady of shallot puts out more growth in a few weeks!

Well yes, this is not the time to liquid feed roses.. that is for supplementary feeding from midsummer and for potted roses from around May onwards..
