euphorbia pruning
in Plants
Hello, this handsome euphorbia was a gift from a passing bird, but is absolutely the right size in the right place. I havent cut it back, and it is already producing new growth. Should I cut it to base do you think, now? Or by half? I cant exactly identify it by looking at varieties online, I hope the photograph will help with that.

Sure thing! You've got yourself a lovely little Euphorbia there. These plants are tough cookies with lots of different looks, so pinning down the exact type just by eyeballing it can be a bit tricky.
About giving it a trim, if it's looking good and not causing any garden-design heartache, you might just let it be and clean up any dead stuff hanging around. If you're feeling like it could do with a bit of a haircut to keep it in shape or make it bushier, you could safely snip off about a third or maybe half. Just don't go all the way to the ground unless you're sure it can handle a major chop.
For the precise type of Euphorbia, it’s like trying to pick out a face in a massive crowd. These plants can be a varied bunch. If you want to get super specific, a plant expert or a succulent guru might help you out if you show them the plant or some snaps of it. They can also give you the best advice on how to keep your Euphorbia buddy happy with the right prune job.
