Pre potted sprouting bulbs

Hi I’ve been bought some pre potted pre sprouting tulip bulbs in plastic trays. If I were to plant them outside  at the normal depth the shoot would be covered. Would this be ok or should I plant them with the shoot uncovered but at a shallower depth? Thankyou

I plant my bulbs in pots in the autumn and then plant them out in spring. I try to get them in at something like the recommended depth even if it means burying part of the shoots, and they don't seem to mind. I generally don't plant them until the shoots are long enough that they won't be completely buried, and I'm sure I sometimes don't get them quite as deep as they should be.

I planted bulbs, daffodils and tulips, in large pots in the Autumn technically at the correct depth for each but I didn’t have enough compost to fill the pots to the top. Over the last few weeks they’ve started growing, and showing leaf. I topped the pots up adding about 3-4 inches of fresh compost. They just continued to grow and have re emerged.
Soto answer the original question I’d plant the prespouted bulbs at the correct depth.

Do you know if the sprouting bulbs have been "forced" into growth early, for earlier flowering?  If you can see a flower bud, or the leaves have unfurled fully, I'd be suspicious that this was the case - and if so, they might not appreciate being put into cold soil covering their new growth.  But if the "sprouts" are still short, I'd also replant at the correct depth.   :)
