For some reason, I always thought that swapping out grass for pavers would downvalue the property as it would make it feel more like a yard. (is that a ridiculous thought?).

It's a temptation to think that what we do in the garden (and in the house) will change the value and appeal a house, but in reality things like swapping out small areas of grass/pavers is so easy and cheap (compared to house value)  that it's unlikely to affect sales.

My vision of your space would have no more pavers, just wide beds on both sides of a path, trees, shrubs. If you want to grow, them you have good space to do it in.

Clay isn’t unfavourable soil. It’s just heavier to work with. It’s full of nutrients so loved by many plants and you can improve the structure (of clay or sandy spil) by adding organic matter - homemade compost or composted manure. If the soil is ver6 heavy to work,  adding some as a mulch each year will work and the worms and over soil critters can do the work for you.

    Welcome to the forum  :)

First of all, it might be worth considering whether you want to keep the grass at all. Paving the central area and access to the gate, and then planting around the edges to soften it might be the way to go.
I've just selected this from Pinterest as the sort of thing l mean.

The slope seems very gentle so people far cleverer than me will probably come up with suggestions. Possibly a raised bed at that end ?
love the idea of this what a lovely looking garden, i think this is definitely some good inspo for you
